Thanksgiving and Christmas is the time of year when everyone is in the spirit to do a little more for everyone. Many people help out at the homeless kitchens, or in their church, or just feel inspired to be a bit nicer. In the past couple of years, I had a more humbug feeling due to our economy and it set people back a bit if they overindulged in the ritual gift giving. I’m inspired this year because I’ve had some opportunities to give a little. I belong to a women’s group in Dana Point, California and another in Placentia. I adore all the ladies and the philanthropy spirit behind them. Each month we meet for a great luncheon, usually have a guest speaker or two and spend some money on the vendors that are there for the event. In many cases, I was one of them as I will be at the upcoming holiday boutique on November 10th.
I may not be able to give thousands of dollars to a charity at this time but I can do something… a little something. We are donating gift baskets as well as a percentage from the proceeds of all sales will go to many of the charities we sponsor. If you want to share more of your heart for the season, spending money for any organization that helps others is the most loving form of giving. You can shop til you drop on November 10th in Dana Point knowing that you’re getting your Christmas shopping done and your contributing to a great cause.
|The Dana Point Women’s Club is sponsoring a wonderful Christmas Boutique and very classy Rummage Sale.
